Vacancy: Apprentice Chefs (Elland Road)

An exciting job opportunity has presented itself at Leeds United FC for some apprentice chefs in our kitchens based in our beautiful Elland Road stadium.

Leeds United Football Club is an English professional football club based in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire and playing in our fabulous stadium based on Elland Road, which has been home to Leeds United since 1919 and remains one of the great theaters of English football and is “The only place for us” since. With a capacity of 37,890, it is England’s 11th largest football ground in the Premier League.

The ideal candidate will assist the main chefs with simple tasks. You should familiarize yourself with the concepts, practices and standard procedures within the kitchen. And you will perform a variety of tasks under general supervision.

Some of the main tasks would include:

Prepare the ingredients while supporting the kitchen brigade

Prepare, cook and present food according to company specifications

Prepare and present food to the highest standards

Responsible for cleaning and refreshing your workstations, dishes and preparation areas

Find out how our kitchens meet the highest standards for cleanliness, food hygiene, health and safety.

Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with all maintenance issues

End of work with senior chefs in preparing menus

Stay up to date with new products, menus and promotions

Get involved and contribute to all team meetings

Be passionate about delivering great food

Carry out the instructions given by the senior member of the kitchen brigade

Assist in the receipt, storage and inventory control of all food supplies

Check the quality, taste and texture of the food produced

Receive, record and monitor food deliveries for quality, quantity and temperature

Attend and complete all learning and development training required to complete the apprenticeship program

The ideal candidate will also have:

Be passionate and knowledgeable about food

Have basic cooking skills such as knife skills

Know the different ingredients, cooking equipment and procedures
