Eden Court Theater in Inverness has launched the search for a new Managing Director with a salary of up to £ 95,000 per year.
This follows the announcement of James Mackenzie-Blackman’s departure in December after nearly four years in charge of returning.
He returned to his hometown to direct the Theater Royal Plymouth.
In launching the search for his replacement, the Eden Court Board of Directors said: “This is an exceptional opportunity at a pivotal moment in our history.
Salary is advertised between £ 85,000 and £ 95,000 depending on skills and experience.
Eden Court comprises two theaters, two multi-purpose studios, two cinemas and three exhibition spaces as well as bars, a restaurant and a boutique.
The information package for the position states: “The successful candidate will be a proven leader in the cultural sector with experience in managing large budgets and teams, the ability to balance artistic vision and innovation with business imperatives, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a genuine commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and a willingness to play a significant role in civic life in Inverness and beyond. “
It also highlights the impact of the pandemic on the site, indicating that under normal circumstances there would be around 200 employees on the payroll.
This had now been reduced to around 110 with a recognition that some departments will need to be rebuilt.
Eden Court believes that it is urgent to increase the capacity of 840 seats in its theater and to modernize its technical infrastructure.
The place also aims to develop a “destination catering offer”.
The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, September 27 at noon.
