Job: Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications at Merit Telecoms

Assist in the identification, engagement and liaison with external grantee organizations (OBs)
Review all BO financial and statutory documents against internal checklists and CSR policy guidelines.
Regularly update the due diligence checklist in accordance with industry standards or legal guidelines
Prepare to write BO proposals that meet minimum due diligence requirements and submit them to CSR committee members for approval
Keep track of all approvals and follow up with relevant external and internal teams for the release of funds.
Keep track of annual CSR budgets and their use across all entities.
Engage regularly with internal stakeholders and committee members and provide relevant updates from time to time (monthly/quarterly/annually)
Prepare minutes of all internal CSR meetings (ad-hoc/statutory).
Make available all documents/information required for external filings related to the CSR program
Develop policies relating to a company’s ethical, sustainable and environmental responsibilities
Ensure a business has a positive impact on local communities and the environment
Raising public awareness of a company’s social responsibility commitments through marketing
Drafting and implementing a company’s social responsibility strategy
Create partnerships with customers, employees, suppliers, charities and other groups
Organize CSR events for employees and their teams
Foster links between the company and educational or charitable groups
Promote the company in local schools and organizations
Report social responsibility activity to management.
Write publicity content such as social media content, press releases, newsletters, speeches, website copy and flyers
Create and maintain a strong relationship with the media to promote the company’s image
Coordinate promotional events and attend press conferences, press launches and exhibitions
Monitor and respond to media and public commentary on the organization across traditional and digital channels
Record media coverage and measure the impact of advertising campaigns on audience engagement
Develop and disseminate public relations materials that increase visibility among stakeholders
Ensure digital marketing/social media content aligns with company brand identity and message
Update and maintain company social media portals (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) daily/weekly or as per schedule

Qualifications, experience and skills

HND/BSc in Business, Sustainability, Communications, Social Sciences or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of work experience required
Independent and proactive work style as well as ability to work in a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving spirit with attention to detail
Project management and data analysis skills
Passionate about corporate social responsibility and sustainable development
Proficiency in MS Office (Words, Excel, Powerpoint)
