The main focus of this position is to ssupport the delivery of the gallery’s exhibition program under the direction of the exhibition director and ssupport certain registration procedures for temporary / special exhibitions and take care of the relevant logistical aspects of exhibition management for the gallery’s temporary (non-collection) exhibition program, including traveling exhibitions initiated by the gallery.
The main responsibilities include:
1.Under the direction of the Exhibition Director, assist in the maintenance and management of exhibition documentation, including contracts for independent artists and curators, and administrative support for annual awards.
2.Under the direction of the Exhibition Director, perform administrative and practical tasks in support of the delivery of the exhibition program, including coordination of the signage schedule (as advised by curatorial staff and the Exhibition Director), liaison with external designers and installers and various requested); coordinate label production and maintain a library of labels ready for permanent collection exhibits and presentations.
3.Participate and contribute to the installation, maintenance / monitoring and de-installation of exhibitions under the direction of the Exhibition Director and in liaison with the installation team and the buildings and spaces coordinator, including the preparation of exhibition spaces and the installation of labels. Contribute to the reception, documentation, unpacking and condition report of works for the exhibition in consultation with the Registrar (as required).
4.Under the direction of the Exhibition Director, assist in the maintenance of exhibitions throughout their duration, including cleaning of artwork (if applicable), exhibition furniture (including digital components) and walls from the gallery as needed.
5. In consultation with the Exhibition Director, assist in the care, storage, maintenance and cataloging of exhibition equipment and furniture, including exhibition plinths, and in collaboration with the Exhibition Coordinator. buildings and spaces.
