Content Manager – Pedestrian TV


We are an online lifestyle brand looking for a talented and creative individual with a passion for digital media to join our growing brand. We are a dynamic and energetic team and pride ourselves on the quality of our content.

This new role involves the development and implementation of content strategies for Sitchu Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth (not yet launched), as well as maintaining the brand’s holistic content plan, which will lead to the acquisition of new audiences. engaged and the overall growth of site traffic.

This role will be based in Melbourne and will report directly to the Sydney-based National Editor.

Specific objectives:

  • Ensure that the content is written in an engaging and accessible manner for the relevant audience, and that it is consistent in terms of tone of voice, style and key messages
  • Work with the national publisher to develop and implement content strategies that bring the overall direction of the brand to life
  • Create informative and inspiring content to host on multiple Sitchu platforms
  • Manage and edit the work of all content contributors and external photographers
  • Optimize online content to help improve search rankings and user engagement
  • Create multiplatform content in collaboration with advertising partners, which meet the main objectives
  • Keep abreast of market trends and conditions to provide strategic advice to both the editorial team and the entire team
  • Conduct general market and competitor research, and present to key stakeholders
  • Manage the allocated budget and third party contributors
  • Work closely with the Sitchu team on bespoke projects and help with editorial components
  • Manage public relations inquiries and editorial relations
  • Attend customer events if necessary

Desired skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working in a content editing role or similar, with demonstrable experience writing for the web and different audiences
  • Be commercial, while ensuring that the brand’s offering remains important
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks
  • Thinks “outside the box” and reacts quickly when situations change
  • Well presented with the ambition to go beyond the role and work within a dynamic team
  • Superior writing, editing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work positively and effectively with people of all levels and cultures
  • Able to multitask, work on multiple projects at once and under tight deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, autonomy and problem solving
  • Great attention to detail with storytelling capabilities
  • Experience using SEO tools and web content management systems, with a good understanding of analytics and the ability to extract key data sets and optimize future performance
  • Ideally, familiarity with standard content management systems and proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is also encouraged

Position: Full time, permanent

Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (attend events outside of these hours from time to time).
